FACTS is a student information system (SIS) used by thousands of K-12 schools to store student records, enrollment data, and course assignments. Your scheduling software needs to pull accurate student and course information from FACTS to build schedules that match your actual enrollment. If your data isn't synchronized, you end up with conflicts between your master schedule and your SIS records.
USA Scheduler connects directly to your FACTS database through a secure API. You click import, and the system pulls your current student roster, courses, and sections. Once you build and balance your schedule in USA Scheduler, you click sync to send the finalized schedule back to FACTS. No manual file transfers or duplicate data entry needed.
Yes. The integration uses encrypted connections and follows standard school data security protocols. Your FACTS database remains the source of truth. USA Scheduler only reads what it needs to build the schedule and writes back the schedule data after you approve it. You control what gets synced and when.
You can make adjustments in USA Scheduler at any time. If you need to update the schedule in FACTS, you simply re-sync the changes. The system overwrites the previous schedule data. Keep in mind that if students or staff have already made changes in FACTS (like course swaps), you'll want to check for conflicts before re-syncing.
Your FACTS administrator needs to create an API account with the right permissions so USA Scheduler can access your data. This is typically a one-time setup step. After that, the integration runs automatically. Your FACTS implementation team can walk you through the requirements if you're not sure.
You choose what to import. Most schools pull their roster, courses, sections, and enrollment from FACTS. The schedule you build in USA Scheduler is separate. You decide when to sync back and what to sync back. This gives you flexibility to test and adjust before pushing changes back to your SIS.
